Overview

The statistics are astounding. Roughly one in five people who die from drowning are children ages 14 and younger. African-American children ages 5-19 drown in swimming pools 5 1/2 times more often than white children. Emerald Youth is committed to teaching more urban children to swim, and we also offer a competitive swim team during the summer.

Learn-to-Swim private lessons

Emerald Youth offers an affordable Learn-to-Swim program that is available to the public at the E.V. Davidson Community Center Pool, located at 3124 Wilson Avenue in Knoxville, Tennessee. American Red Cross certified swim instructors guide each student through a series of swimming skills and water safety information to better equip them for their time in and around water.

Cost is $60 for 8 private, one-on-one lessons. Lessons typically take place twice a week for four weeks. For more information or to check availability, please contact Marlee Sanders through the contact form on this page.
