Calling & Career Ministry

Our desire for the young people we engage is to develop promising, Godly young adult leaders for Knoxville.

This is the heartbeat of the Calling & Career Ministry, which provides support services to high school students as they transition to post-secondary experiences as well as to successful careers and into their Christ-centered calling.

In order to succeed in career and life, young adults must learn to thrive in high school. Through our Calling & Career Ministry locations in East Knoxville, Lonsdale, Mechanicsville/North Knoxville, and South Knoxville, high school students receive access to technology and tutoring assistance programs. Additionally, youth have opportunities to participate in a number of workshops designed to support academic improvement and professional development. Topics include ACT prep, financial literacy and job skills among others. Students can also receive assistance with college and financial aid applications.

Through supportive relationships with staff and volunteer mentors and tutors, young people are also exploring their individual calling and receive guidance as they navigate the big decisions that come throughout high school and early adulthood. We have helped youth learn more about the local workforce through job shadowing programs, and we also support students interested in exploring area post-secondary programs through campus visits to colleges.
