Kent Stanger grew up in Knoxville and is a Fulton High School alumnus.
He graduated from Carson-Newman University where he earned a bachelor's degree in mass communication and was a member of CN's cross country team.
Stanger first joined Emerald Youth Foundation in 2003 as an AmeriCorps member serving at Magnolia Avenue UMC. After spending three years in restaurant management in both Atlanta and Knoxville, he returned to Emerald Youth in 2007 to work in sports and events.
He is an Emerald University training instructor and a certified American Red Cross instructor. Kent has two children, Savannah and Jackson.
