Jaylan is a Knoxville native and graduate of Austin-East High School. After earning a bachelor’s degree in Leisure, Sport, and Tourism Studies along with a master’s degree in Sport Management from Middle Tennessee State University, he returned home to begin his career. Jaylan is grateful for the opportunity Emerald Youth has given him to serve and give back to his community.

Jaylan’s past work experience includes serving in the footwear department at Dick’s Sporting Goods and working with Middle Tennessee State’s Women’s Basketball program as a program manager and graduate assistant.

Jaylan chose to join Emerald Youth because of his love for the mission and its impact on young people in Knoxville—bringing youth closer to God and helping them pursue and achieve their goals.

His favorite scripture is Proverbs 3:5-6, which reminds him that when you acknowledge God in all your ways, He will direct your path. Even through seasons of uncertainty, Jaylan trusts that God will always guide and lead him where he needs to be.
